Every price here was read directly from Vanta's pricing page on August 15, 2026, and is re-checked by September 15, 2026. Prices are US dollars. Vanta publishes none of them; every figure below is a reported or estimated range, sourced individually. No vendor pays for placement. See our affiliate disclosure.
The short answer
Vanta does not publish a price, and it never has. The pricing page shows four tiers, Essentials, Plus, Professional and Enterprise, with feature descriptions and a “Get personalized pricing” button under every one of them. No dollar figure appears anywhere on the page.
What we can tell you comes from third parties, not Vanta. Procurement platform Vendr, which aggregates real customer purchase data, lists Vanta’s median annual contract at $19,750 to $20,000, with observed deals stretching from $7,500 up to $56,781. Compliance consultancies that publish cost breakdowns cite similar bands: roughly $10,000-$28,000/yr for a sub-50-person company on a single framework, climbing to $25,000-$55,000/yr once headcount passes 50 or a second framework gets added.
None of that is a quote. It is what other buyers have reportedly paid, filtered through sources with their own incentives (some are Vanta competitors, some sell audit-prep services). Use it to walk into your sales call with a sanity check, not to skip the call.
Vanta's tiers (no prices shown, confirmed on the vendor page)
| Plan | Annual (per mo) | Monthly | Seat minimum | What it is for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | Custom quote | Custom quote | None published | First framework, automated evidence collection, basic reporting. Vanta calls this 'the fastest, simplest path to compliance' |
| Plus | Custom quote | Custom quote | None published | Adds access management and AI-powered questionnaire automation, up to 25 questionnaires a year |
| Professional | Custom quote | Custom quote | None published | Vanta's own 'most popular' tier. Risk management, up to 144 questionnaires a year, advanced Trust Center, custom monitoring tests |
| Enterprise | Custom quote | Custom quote | None published | Fully customized GRC program for large, multi-entity organizations |
Confirmed directly on vanta.com/pricing, August 15, 2026: every tier’s only call to action is “Get personalized pricing,” and the page states pricing is determined after a demo. There is no seat count, no per-framework price, and no monthly-vs-annual toggle to compare, because none of those numbers are shown.
What actually drives the quote up
| Item | Cost | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Additional frameworks | Roughly +$7,500/yr each (reported) | SOC 2 plus ISO 27001 plus HIPAA stacks cost meaningfully more than a single-framework deal; a 2026 cost breakdown from soc2auditors.org cites this per-framework increment |
| Headcount growth | Pushes you into a higher band | Vendr and multiple third-party breakdowns tie price directly to employee count at time of signing, not usage |
| Questionnaire volume | Tier-gated (25/yr on Plus, 144/yr on Professional) | Security-questionnaire automation is capped per tier on Vanta's own feature grid; sales-led companies fielding a lot of vendor questionnaires often get pushed to Professional for this reason alone |
| Implementation or onboarding fee | Reportedly $2,000-$10,000, one-time | Some quotes include a setup fee; multiple third-party pricing breakdowns describe it as negotiable, especially on multi-year commitments |
| The audit itself | Separate, reportedly $15,000-$50,000 | The Vanta subscription is software only. The actual SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit comes from an independent CPA or accredited auditor, billed on top |
Estimated ranges by company size (not Vanta-confirmed)
These are ranges assembled from Vendr's aggregated procurement data and published third-party cost breakdowns (soc2auditors.org, costbench.com), not figures from Vanta or from any single customer contract we verified directly. Treat every number here as a planning band, not a quote, and always get your own.
| Team | Plan they land on | Seats / year | Add-ons / year | One-time | Year one |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Startup, under 50 employees, one framework | Essentials or Plus (reported) | $10,000-$28,000/yr | Audit fee separate, ~$15,000-$25,000 | $0-$10,000 (reported setup fee) | ~$25,000-$60,000 all-in (reported) |
| Growth-stage, 51-200 employees, 1-2 frameworks | Plus or Professional (reported) | $25,000-$55,000/yr | Audit fee separate, ~$20,000-$35,000 | $0-$10,000 (reported setup fee) | ~$45,000-$90,000 all-in (reported) |
| Enterprise, 200+ employees, multi-framework, multi-entity | Enterprise (reported) | $56,000+/yr (top of Vendr's observed range) | Audit fee separate, scoped per entity | Often negotiated into a multi-year deal | $80,000+ all-in, per multiple third-party estimates |
There’s no price list to check
I went looking for a Vanta number and came back with four tier names instead: Essentials, Plus, Professional, Enterprise. Every single one ends at the same button, “Get personalized pricing.” No dollar figure sits anywhere on the page, not even a “starting at.”
It isn’t laziness. Compliance pricing depends on things a static page can’t know in advance, how many frameworks you’re chasing, how big the company is, how many vendor questionnaires the sales team fields in a year. Vanta prices those inputs after the sales call, not before it.
Most “Vanta pricing” pages online are reverse-engineered from other buyers’ invoices, not confirmed by Vanta. This page works the same way. Every figure below is labeled reported or estimated, because that’s genuinely what it is.
The four things that push the number around
Frameworks come first. SOC 2 alone costs less than SOC 2 stacked with ISO 27001 and HIPAA, and one detailed third-party breakdown pegs each added framework at roughly $7,500 a year on top of the base.
Headcount is next. A 30-person startup chasing its first SOC 2 and a 300-person company running multi-entity GRC aren’t buying the same thing, even under the same tier name. Vendr’s data backs this up: observed deals range from $7,500 all the way up to $56,781.
Questionnaire volume surprises a lot of buyers. Plus caps AI-powered questionnaire automation at 25 a year, Professional at 144. A sales-led company answering security questionnaires constantly can get pushed into a pricier tier for that reason alone, headcount aside.
One more thing to budget for separately: the audit itself. Vanta sells the software, evidence collection, monitoring, the Trust Center. The actual SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit comes from an outside CPA firm, reportedly adding another $15,000 to $50,000 on top.
What people report actually paying
Vendr’s procurement marketplace, built from verified purchases rather than survey answers, lists Vanta’s median annual contract at $19,750 to $20,000, with a full observed range of $7,500 to $56,781. That’s the most credible third-party figure available, since it comes from real transaction data.
Independent compliance-consultancy breakdowns land close by. Sub-50-employee, single-framework companies reportedly pay $10,000-$28,000 a year, and 51-200 employee companies on one or two frameworks pay $25,000-$55,000. Our compliance automation listicle cites a similar source putting a 50-person company on the Plus tier at $25,000-$45,000.
None of these numbers are a quote you can hold Vanta to. But three sources landing in overlapping bands is a stronger signal than the single-number blog posts that make up most of what else ranks for “Vanta pricing.”
Getting a fair number out of the call
Skip the vague “book a demo” approach and walk in with your framework count, headcount, and rough questionnaire volume already worked out. Those three inputs move the quote the most, and stating them upfront tends to shorten the whole sales cycle.
Renewal is where the real negotiation happens. Our compliance listicle documents a case where a Vanta renewal opened 40% above year one and got talked down to an 8% increase by committing to a two-year term. A high opening ask followed by real room to negotiate on contract length shows up across enough independent sources to call it the pattern, not the exception.
If a fixed budget matters more than brand name, check the alternatives before sitting through a demo. Drata, Sprinto and Secureframe are all reported to start lower, around $7,000 to $7,500 a year, and Scrut Automation bundles every framework into one price instead of charging per framework. Vanta still holds the deepest review base in the category, 4.6/5 across 2,454 G2 reviews, and tops our compliance automation ranking . The tradeoff for that track record is a sales process with no visible floor until you’re actually on the call.
Vanta pricing questions
Why doesn't Vanta publish pricing?
Vanta’s cost genuinely varies by four factors it cannot price on a static page: how many frameworks you need (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR), your headcount, your questionnaire and integration volume, and your contract length. Confirmed directly on vanta.com/pricing, every tier’s only CTA is ‘Get personalized pricing’ with no dollar figure shown anywhere on the page, as of August 15, 2026.
How much does Vanta actually cost?
There is no vendor-confirmed number, only reported ranges. Vendr’s procurement marketplace, built from verified customer purchases, lists a median annual contract of $19,750 to $20,000, with observed deals from $7,500 to $56,781. Third-party breakdowns put sub-50-person, single-framework companies closer to $10,000-$28,000/yr, and 51-200 person companies at $25,000-$55,000/yr. None of these are Vanta-published figures.
Does the Vanta price include the SOC 2 audit itself?
No. Vanta sells the compliance automation software, evidence collection, monitoring, and the Trust Center. The actual audit comes from an independent CPA or accredited auditor and is billed separately, reportedly $15,000-$50,000 depending on scope and firm, per multiple third-party cost breakdowns.
What makes a Vanta quote go up?
Four levers, based on third-party reporting since Vanta does not publish its pricing logic: adding frameworks (roughly +$7,500/yr each, reported), headcount growth, questionnaire volume above your tier’s cap, and shorter contract terms. Multi-year commitments are reported to unlock better renewal terms.
Can you negotiate Vanta's price at renewal?
Reportedly yes, and it is worth doing. Our sister listicle on compliance automation platforms describes a renewal quote that opened 40% above year one and was negotiated down to an 8% increase by committing to a two-year term. That is one account’s experience, not a guarantee, but the pattern (opening high, negotiable with a longer commitment) shows up across multiple third-party writeups.
Is Vanta cheaper than Drata or Secureframe?
Roughly comparable at the low end. Drata and Sprinto are both reported to start near $7,000/yr, Secureframe near $7,500/yr, all in the same ballpark as Vanta’s low-end reported figures. None of the four publishes real pricing, so any ‘cheaper’ claim is a comparison of estimates, not confirmed contracts. See our Vanta alternatives comparison for the full breakdown.
Does company size change which Vanta tier I need?
Indirectly, through questionnaire volume and framework count rather than a seat-based rule. Plus caps questionnaire automation at 25/year, Professional at 144/year, so a sales-led company fielding a lot of vendor security questionnaires often needs Professional regardless of headcount. Enterprise is reserved for multi-entity or heavily customized GRC programs.
Is there a free trial or free tier for Vanta?
No. Vanta requires a demo before it will discuss pricing at all, and there is no self-serve signup or public free trial. That is the tradeoff of a fully custom-quote product: you cannot test-drive it without talking to sales first.
