The short answer

Freshdesk runs $19 to $89 per agent per month on annual billing, with no permanent free plan. New accounts start on a 14-day Enterprise trial, and there is a separate Free Program capped at 2 agents for 6 months for teams that want a longer runway before paying.

The tier structure has one real trap. Growth at $19 covers ticketing, a shared inbox, a knowledge base and 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions, but the next step up, Pro at $55, is a near-3x jump. That is where multilingual support, custom dashboards, intelligent routing and multiple SLA policies live, and there is no smaller step in between.

A ten-agent team on Growth plus Freddy AI Copilot for half the seats comes to $3,540 for year one. There is no onboarding fee, this is self-serve pricing.

Freshworks only publishes annual per-agent pricing on the current page, no monthly-billed rate is shown next to it. Every new signup gets a 14-day trial of the full Enterprise plan regardless of which tier they intend to land on. The Free Program (2 agents, 6 months) is marketed separately from the three paid tiers and is not a permanent free plan, after 6 months you move to a paid tier or lose access. There is no published seat minimum on any tier.

The jump from Growth to Pro

I opened Freshdesk’s pricing page on August 15 and read the three plans off it directly. Growth $19, Pro $55, Enterprise $89, per agent per month on annual billing.

The gap between Growth and Pro is the number that matters most here. It’s a near-3x increase, the steepest single step in the whole ladder, and it’s not gating some minor extra. Intelligent routing, multiple SLA policies, multilingual support, and custom dashboards all sit behind that jump at once. There is no smaller tier in between to soften it.

Enterprise adds roughly another 60% on top of Pro, but for a narrower set of features: skill-based routing, a sandbox, audit logs. Most teams will feel the Growth-to-Pro jump long before they ever think about Enterprise.

So the real planning question isn’t “what does Freshdesk cost.” It’s how fast a growing team will outgrow Growth’s SLA and routing limits, because the next stop costs three times as much per seat.

What Freddy AI Copilot actually costs

Freddy AI Copilot is a $29/agent/mo add-on, and Freshworks only sells it on Pro and Enterprise. It is not available on Growth at any price. That’s a deliberate tier gate, not an oversight: you cannot buy AI-assisted response drafting and summarization on the cheapest plan no matter how many seats you’re running.

Do the math on switching just to get Copilot and it gets expensive fast. Pro already costs $36 more per seat than Growth ($55 vs $19). Add Copilot’s $29 on top and a Pro seat with the AI add-on runs $84 a month, more than 4x a bare Growth seat.

Unless intelligent routing or multiple SLA policies are already blocking your team, staying on Growth without AI assistance beats paying for Pro just to unlock Copilot, especially under 20 agents. Freddy AI Agent is a different story: it ships included on Enterprise with 500 sessions, then $49 per 100 more.

Free plan, trial, and room to negotiate

There’s no ongoing free plan here. New signups get a 14-day trial of the full Enterprise tier, and Freshworks separately runs a Free Program capped at 2 agents for 6 months. After that window you move to a paid tier or lose access.

That trial-first pattern is normal for the category, not a red flag specific to Freshdesk. Only 36% of the 318 tools in our Free Tier Report have a genuine ongoing free plan.

Negotiating room is close to zero at normal team sizes. Freshdesk is self-serve with published per-agent prices and no seat minimum, so there’s no rep to push against for a 10 or 20-agent deployment. Annual billing is the only real discount lever versus paying month to month.

Should you look at Zendesk instead

Freshdesk Growth at $19 against Zendesk Suite Team at $55 is a 65% saving at the entry tier, and that gap holds through the mid-tier too. A 25-agent team saves roughly $10,800 a year staying on Freshdesk instead of Zendesk.

Freshdesk’s own G2 profile backs this up. Across roughly 3,750 reviews at 4.4/5, the recurring praise is ease of setup and value at Growth, and the recurring complaint is the same tier jump covered above: features gated above the entry price, and thinner reporting until you pay for Pro.

For most small support teams, Growth at $19 is the right starting point, worth staying on until SLA routing or multilingual support becomes a genuine blocker rather than a nice-to-have. If the Pro jump has you second-guessing the whole vendor, read the full Freshdesk vs Zendesk comparison next. Zendesk’s entry tier costs even more and won’t solve the same problem cheaper, Freshdesk just isn’t cheap once you actually need what Pro unlocks.

Freshdesk pricing questions

How much does Freshdesk cost per agent

On annual billing: $19 (Growth), $55 (Pro), $89 (Enterprise) per agent per month. Freshworks does not publish a separate monthly-billed rate on the current pricing page. Verified on freshworks.com August 15, 2026.

Is Freshdesk free

Not permanently. New accounts get a 14-day trial of the full Enterprise plan, and there is a separate Free Program for up to 2 agents that runs 6 months before you have to move to a paid tier. Only 36% of the 318 tools in our Free Tier Report have a real, ongoing free plan, so a capped trial-style free program is the more common pattern.

Which Freshdesk plan do most teams need

Growth at $19 a seat covers the basics most SMB support teams need: ticketing, shared inbox, knowledge base and 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions. Teams that need SLA policies beyond the basics, intelligent routing or multilingual support have to move to Pro at $55, which is the steepest single jump in the ladder.

Does Freshdesk charge extra for AI features

Yes. Freddy AI Copilot is a $29/agent/mo add-on, and it is only available on Pro and Enterprise, not Growth. Freddy AI Agent sessions are included on Enterprise up to 500, then billed at $49 per 100 additional sessions.

Is Freshdesk cheaper than Zendesk

Yes, by a wide margin at every comparable tier. Freshdesk Growth is $19/agent/mo against Zendesk Suite Team at $55, a 65% gap at the entry level. See our full Freshdesk vs Zendesk comparison for the tier-by-tier math.

Is Freshdesk good for a small team of 3 to 5 agents

Yes. Growth at $19 a seat covers ticketing, the shared inbox, a customer portal and a knowledge base, which is most of what a small support team needs on day one. A 5-agent team on Growth runs $1,140 a year before any add-ons.

What does Freshdesk cost for a 50-agent team

About $33,000 in year one on the Pro plan at $55/agent/mo, our own calculation from the published rate, with no add-ons. Add Freddy AI Copilot across the team and that rises by $17,400/year.

Can you negotiate Freshdesk pricing

Barely, at normal team sizes. It is self-serve with published per-agent prices and no seat minimum, so there is no sales rep to negotiate with below Enterprise-scale deployments. Annual billing is the only published discount lever versus paying month to month.
