The data residency point is the biggest structural difference for compliance-sensitive teams. On Zapier, your workflow data (the payloads moving through your automations) transits and is temporarily stored on Zapier's infrastructure. For most commercial use cases, that's fine. Zapier is the right default for teams that aren't sure what they need yet, teams where automation is built by non-technical people, and any situation where breadth of app connectors matters more than cost or data control.
